Hanoi-Warszawa - Poland / A young Vietnamese woman, Mai Anh illegally enters Poland through the green border with Ukraine. Now she only has to reach Warsaw, where she will join her boyfriend and start her dreamed life. But the journey through Poland turns into a journey of humiliation and violence. Mai Anh escapes her brutal traffickers and tries to reach Warsaw on her own.
Jr Posse – USA/ The short documentary "JR. POSSE" subject chronicles Mayisha Akbar, Founder and Director of the Compton Jr. Posse Youth Equestrian Training Program. Of the many important and moving stories in this documentary short film is the fact that equestrian offers a source of co-therapy,the connection between the riders and horses is maintained as they lift the hopes and self-esteem of each other. "JR. POSSE" is one woman's vision and passion affirming that teaming youth with animals teaches them responsibility, discipline, increases self-esteem and saves lives. This film is bound to inspire and uplift the human spirit.
Lychee Thieves - USA / Pomaika'i Brown (50 First Dates) gives a moving performance as Keoki in this serious yet funny tale about four Hawaiian locals who clash over an abundant lychee tree.
The Roe Effect - USA In a world frighteningly similar to our own, Dawn and her girlfriend Sam are madly in love. But unbeknownst to Sam, Dawn is hiding a terrible secret, one powerful enough to destroy all Dawn holds dear. Just in Case – USA A beautiful, rich pianist who gets stuck on her way to a concert has to get on a bus for the first time in her life, only to find out that across from her sits a potential suicide bomber. In her growing panic, she decides to move to a safer seat - next to Yuri - a drunk, bitter and tired Russian soldier with a gun on his lap. Inspired by true events, Just In Case is a five minute impossible love story which takes place in an impossible reality

As May begins to lose her memory to Alzheimer's disease, Howard attempts to rekindle their love through the music they performed in their youth.

"A Coming Out Homecoming" is the short and sweet story of Cindy's quest to get Janice out of the car and into her parents' house.
Daddy's Little Girl - Canada / Virginia, a nerdy university student, thought phone sex would be a great way to easy money. Until the day her father called.
Equestrian Sexual Response - USA/ Alice must reckon with sexuality through the worlds of middle school and racehorse breeding.
Et Toi? - France / Zoe and Francois are experiencing a perfect start in their relationship, full of sweetness and tenderness. They feel so well together that, at an intimate and sensual time, Zoe confesses her love to Francois. The latter, as a typical man, takes his time to answer.
Love at First Sight? - USA/ beautiful spring day at the beach. Chelsea waits for Sasha but someone else catches her eye.
Silent Valley - Switzerland / Valeria's father is dead. For the firs time after many years away Valeria travels back to her home village to attend her father's funeral. Neither in the church nor at the funeral meal does she find comfort. She feels uneasy around the villagers. Her mother wraps herself in silent sorrow and leaves Valeria with doubts about her father having died a natural death. Valeria wants to go back to her studies as soon as possible but unexpected powers prevent her from returning to the city. Valeria has to face her destiny.
The Translator - Canada/ While on a subway ride with her boyfriend a foreign film translator comes to an unexpected stop.

The Great American Pigeon Race - USA / Six persecuted pigeons compete in a cutthroat race to be the first to claim the most prized pigeon real estate in the land.

Jucy- Australia/ Jackie (Cindy Nelson) and Lucy (Francesca Gasteen) - together nicknamed 'Jucy' - are 20 something best friends who do everything together. Their days are spent working at a local alternative video store serving a variety of equally emotionally disenfranchised freaks and geeks. Always on the outside looking in but never alone as long as they have each other they combat boredom with their own special brand of 'joie de vivre'. When badgered by friends and family for being in a 'womance' (the girl equivalent of a bromance - codependant, weird and incapable of living a normal life), the girls decide it's time to grow up. Jackie will snag the dreamy boyfriend and Lucy will land the job of her dreams, but will growing up mean growing apart?

Lady Filmmakers Film Festival was created to provide an audience for women filmmakers. Our festival celebrates Lady Filmmakers and the men who collaborate with them.
To qualify, women must fill the role of at least one of the following positions in the films:
Writer, Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Production Designer, or Editor
