Alyson Fouse

Alyson Fouse was born and raised in Compton, California by her two loving parents, Alvin and Mable Fouse. One of her earliest memories is sitting on her father's lap while he read her the Sunday comics. This lead to her love of reading, but it wasn't until Alyson was a little girl in church that she realized she had a passion for writing, too. After hearing her mother read the church minutes, which she'd written in a way that kept the congregation engaged and entertained, Alyson knew at that moment she wanted to be a writer. In 1997, Alyson began her writing career in radio when she submitted an unsolicited sketch to a popular Los Angeles morning show, "John London and The House Party" on 92.3 The Beat. She was hired as their first ever free-lance writer. A month later, one of her sketches caught the attention of Keenen Ivory Wayans. Alyson was then hired to work with the creator of “In Living Color" on his late night talk program, "The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show". After that she continued to work with Keenen on "Scary Movie", and "Scary Movie 2". Then her career in sitcom began. Alyson has worked on some of the funniest shows and with a few of the best names in comedy. Writing and producing with Damon Wayans on "My Wife And Kids"; Wanda Sykes on "Wanda At Large", and "Wanda Does It”; Don Reo and Brad Garret on "'Til Death”; BET’s “Second Generation Wayans” and “The Real Husbands of Hollywood”; TVOne’s “Love That Girl” and “Born Again Virgin”; also Chris Rock on "Everybody Hates Chris", for which she received a WGA nomination, and recognition from AFI for contributing to America's cultural legacy. She was also acknowledged for her work on the sitcom "Brothers" when she was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. In the midst of a busy TV career, Alyson also penned four successful sequels for Universal Studios Home Entertainment entitled, "Bring It On: All or Nothing", Bring It On: In It to Win It", "Bring It On: Fight to The Finish", and "Honey 2”. She is also shares credit for the made for TV movie, “A Very Larry Christmas”. Variety, specials, and awards shows are also a part of Alyson’s resume with work on “The Lyricist Lounge Show”, “MTV Video Music Awards 2000”, “The 55th Primetime Emmy Awards”, “The 4th Annual BET Awards”, "The Wanda Sykes Show”, “BET Awards 2010”, and “Wanda Sykes Presents Herlarious” for OWN. Alyson has shown interest in the independent film world as well, executive producing the short film, "Texas Toast" written by playwright Robert Hensley. Recently, she sold a sitcom starring comedian Ms. Pat to Fox.
