is a Los Angeles-based writer and director with credits including 35 shoot days on short form projects, public service announcements and music videos for clients such as Adidas, Lincoln Mercury Challenge, Family Gateway and The Partnership at Drugfree.org. An active member of the DGA, Women in Film and Film Independent, Lori graduated from Art Center College of Design on a merit-based scholarship in 1998. Her Nike spot “Recycling” won a student Clio award and put her on the radar of several production companies, which was the catalyst to signing with Reactor films fresh out of school. Her documentary feature Speak Up When You're Down is a groundbreaking project touching on the subject of postpartum depression and featuring Marcia Gay Harden, Madeline Brand and 32 other moms, dads and medical professionals. The first installment, The Lily Chan Story, won a Certificate at the Lady Filmmakers Festival in Los Angeles in 2012. Lori was a finalist in the MTV/Women in Film Pitch Competition for her original dramatic series Abbot Kinney. She was also a top-three finalist at the Sundance 2013 Film Utah Pitch Competition for her upcoming feature Christ Air, which tells the inspirational true story of Christian Hosoi’s journey from skateboard teen idol to meth addict to inmate to pastor. My focus is projects with sensitivity and social relevance.
