Synopsis: A suspenseful, psychological drama with elements of fantasy and the supernatural, GO NORTH centers around a young woman who begins to lose her sanity while escaping the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Vanita Shastry is a filmmaker based in New York City. She recently attended the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television where she received her MFA in film directing. GO NORTH is her thesis film.
Vanita was born in India but grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania starting at the age of one. She studied Industrial Engineering at Columbia University and later got her MBA from New York University.
Vanita has always been drawn to music performance and the arts, and after working in the corporate world for several years, she decided to pursue filmmaking, her true passion. While at UCLA, Vanita wrote, directed and edited four short films. She was also awarded several Teacher Assistantships and financial grants, including the prestigious DGA John Frankenheimer Memorial Fellowship (2013).
Vanita is currently developing her first feature film.
