Latisha Van Simon
Songstress performing at the Champagne Party Sunday September 30th!
Latisha Van Simon was born in The Netherlands. Her singing career started, at the young age of 11, when she starred in the touring musical ANNIE as Annie. After performing throughout the country, she realized that singing was her passion. She continued to perform in talent shows, which included Concours de la Chanson, Haarlems Interscolair Tournooi (HIT), Starsearch, to name a few. Latisha began writing songs at the age of 12 while taking guitar and piano lessons to accompany herself.
After High School, Latisha moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music upon winning a Music Scholarship for the college. She attended college for a year and then moved to Los Angeles, where she continued her studies at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Her talent did not go unnoticed, she received yet another music scholarship from legendary bassist and composer, Stanley Clarke. Latisha had the honor of performing with Stevie Wonder, at his concert, "A House Full Of Toys", which was a benefit concert for kids without toys.
Not only does she sing and write, but Latisha also developed a passion for music production. She landed a record producing project on former Virgin Records’ artist, "Ferras", in 2007, and continued developing her production skills.
In 2008, Latisha received a degree for, “Voice and Audio Engineering”, and began working with the President of Warner Brothers Pictures Music Department, Paul Broucek, on an EP. Osvaldo Supino, a singer/celebrity in Italy, recognized her talent and started working with her on his EP. His single, "Like This", written and produced by Latisha and her partner Femke, was released in May 2011.
In the past couple years, Latisha has built an enormous library of songs, and continues to push herself to be an even better writer and performer.
