BIOGRAPHY
Janna-Marynn Brunnen grew up in, and around, Calgary, Ab Canada. At the age of 18 she attended both the Alberta Theatre Project’s Youth Playwriting Program and Apprenticeship Program. In 2003 she graduated from the Technical Production Program at The National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal. She then went on to work for Carnival Cruise Lines as both a Stage Manager and Automation Technician before returning home to Calgary. Over the years she has worked in Canadian theatre as a Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, Technical Director, and Stage Manager. In 2009 Janna-Marynn received the National Film Board of Canada/ Quickdraw Animation scholarship for study and production. The result was her first animated short “Little Heart”. Which premiered in Canada at the International Festival of Animated Objects 2011 and has since gone on to premiere in the US at the Palm Beach Women’s International Film Festival 2011 and in Europe at the 2011 Animasyros 4.0 International Animation Festival and Forum in Greece. "Little Heart" received the Gold Kahuna Award at the 2011 Honolulu Film Awards.
