Synopsis:
Where does your world end and mine begin? Just imagine… … Imagine a world where 'Straight' was considered 'gay' - and 'gay' was 'straight' … A world where it was taboo for a woman and a man to fall in love … A world where 'same sex marriage' was the only way in which society would permit you to love. … A world where who you love defines who you are. “Love is All You Need?” tells the story of Ashley, a young teen who is raised in the ‘picture perfect all-American family’ – with two moms, two grandpas, two uncles, and a little brother… But Ashley has a problem – she has a crush on a boy at school…, which is against everything this world has ever taught her. This undeniable attraction to the opposite sex causes her to be the constant target of verbal and physical abuse until she is driven to a tragic end.

Kim Rocco Shields: Director/Writer
“’Love Is All You Need?’ is my brainchild - my attempt to show the world what it would be like to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.” A true artist, LA native Kim “Rocco” Shields never stops her creative process – as is evident in “Love Is All You need?” – her first festival bound short narrative project. Starting in the editing room at 21 years old, she decided that working alongside directors on set was the best practice to learn her future craft. In becoming one of LA's most coveted script supervisors, Rocco worked closely with J.J. Abrams and Gore Verbinski. In 2006, she partnered with industry veteran Rachel Diana to create WingSpan Pictures, which has grown to a fully operating production company with a studio based out of Burbank, CA. To date, Rocco has directed numerous projects ranging from music videos, commercials, infomercials and reality to educational videos. With the spotlight on bullying amongst today's youth, a seed was planted in Rocco’s head. It was in November of 2010 that she woke up and thought, "What if the tables were turned? Would people finally understand?" After a month of fundraising, and throwing in personal funds, "Love Is All You Need?" was in production and became Rocco’s first narrative festival project. With “Love Is All You Need?” Rocco brings her personal passion to the table by taking on one of our time's most pressing issues from a fresh point of view.

David Tillman: Writer
David Tillman is a talented writer and actor who both wrote and acted in Love. He explains his connection to the movie. “The concept of Love really struck a personal chord with me. Having been a victim of bullying I know first hand the pain, suffering and self-hate it caused me. I was honored to be asked by Rocco to help bring a story to life onscreen that could potentially help lots of young people - gay or straight - to either realize they are not alone and that their struggle is being heard or, even more importantly, that the young people who are actually doing the bullying will wake up to the harm and long term effects they are inflicting on their victims. If even one person is saved from self harm or from inflicting pain on another, then I believe we will have succeed in our mission.”
