Sammi Trauben is twenty-three years old and grew up in West Bloomfield Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for two years. At the University of Michigan, she was a photojournalist and photo editor for the Michigan Daily. During her summer vacations, she worked at DreamWorks Studios, Kennedy/Marshall Productions, and Paramount Pictures. After her internship at Paramount in 2011, Samantha moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for photography. She transferred to Loyola Marymount University to receive her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in photography. Sammi graduated with honors in May 2014, and currently works in Los Angeles, California.
Her most recent work is a series titled, "Old Hollywood in the Modern World." Trauben explores the cliché and commercialized notions of what Hollywood is in 2014. In contrast, she photographs historical monuments and recreates popular "old hollywood" stars to show their contribution to the current Hollywood.
