DAVID MARSHALL SILVERMAN (producer/editor) David was handed a video camera in middle school and given free reign to make his own films. The joy and sense of freedom he felt as a twelve year old filmmaker has not left him. David went on to study motion picture production at University of Miami, winning Best Film for WILLARD (writer/director) in the Canes Film Festival. While at UM, David double-majored in creative writing and studied under legendary novelist, James Michener. David relocated from South Florida to Atlanta, where he began his career as a professional actor. A member of Actors Equity Association, David has appeared in scores of plays, industrial films and television commercials. Most recently, David acted opposite Harrison Ford in ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES. He was also recently seen on USA’s NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, Lifetime’s DROP DEAD DIVA and Cartoon Network’s YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING TO HELL. David was named Best Actor by Atlanta’s Creative Loafing Magazine and received a Maverick Movie Award for Best Actor for his role in Cakebaby’s MY GOOD FORTUNE. David began producing in Atlanta with his play, LOSERS, followed by WAITING: A RESTAURANT DRAMA. Shortly after, he began to produce films beginning with THE HORSE & PONY SHOW (writer/producer), and then FREAKSHOW (writer/producer) teaming up with DP Tim Glover and actor Steve Coulter. THE TEDIOUS EXISTENCE OF TERRELL B. HOWELL (director/producer) was David’s first collaboration with his wife Kelly Young-Silverman (together, they formed Cakebaby Productions). Since then, Cakebaby has produced four additional short films, and each has had a robust festival run. David continues to direct plays and films at The Lovett School in Atlanta, where he teaches acting and screenwriting.
