Lisset Mendoza (Writer / Director) - Lisset began her early exploration into film by obsessing over what happen next in her favorite television shows. In attempt to create her own scripts she would tell little white lies to friends and family. She quickly learned that lies would also get her out of trouble being a middle child in a big Mexican household “To be able to escape realties for a brief moment isn’t the only thing I want to accomplish when I tell a story. I want to be able to show it from another perspective. I want to be able to tell story that hasn’t been perceived yet, because the way I see it, everyone around has a story and that’s just waiting to be heard.” Lisset continued to excel in her passion for cinema by winning various awards in cinematography and script writing. Noticing an absence of film clubs at her local college Lisset and friends founded, the local film club known as the Next Generation of Filmmakers (NGF). “Just last year I had been blind for 3 months due ill care of my eyes, but never again will I ever take my sight for granted. Ironically enough it has only made me see and realize we are not even scratching the surface when it comes to the art of story telling. I’m tired of seeing where Hollywood and where it is now with it’s remakes and super heroes. Why aren’t we seeing the real stories and real people, the true heroes and villains?” Lisset is currently finalizing her latest short film “a little journey” a drama, in which a little boy uses his imagination to escape the realties of Mexico as he set forth into a new world; set to debut later this year.
Liliana Maldonado (Producer) - Liliana is dedicated to the Art of Filmmaking. She is set out to bring more diverse stories and a multicultural cast to Hollywood. She is also one of the founders of the Next Generation of Filmmakers Film Festival (NGF Fest) that seeks to give a platform to student short films. Currently working on a new short film in which it will be her first time in the director's chair.
Kevin Kreger (Cinematographer) - Kevin Kreger is a cinematographer and director from Orange County, California, who attended film school at Orange Coast College. Like many filmmakers, Kevin's experience started in childhood, making camcorder movies with neighbors. Themes of nature, travel, and adventure stories are favorite subjects for Kevin, but he often crosses many differing inspirations, from the human drama of "Eternity" to the 1980's action-satire "High Five". Kevin's interest in filmmaking was spawned primarily from a love for vintage cinema and a desire to recreate it, as visible in many of his personal projects, such as the 1930's Technicolor film "The Confusion of Mr. Krenshaw" and the 1960's-inspired Western, "Outlawed Prospects". Kevin works as a freelance cinematographer and collaborates often with director Lisset MendoZa.
Regina Velasco (Editor) - Regina is a freelance editor and cinematographer from Southern California. Her love of cinema started at a young age when she watched the 1982 neo-noir science fiction classic, Blade Runner. Since then, Regina has collaborated on many short films, her work ranging from pre-production to post work. White Roses was her first collaboration with director Lisset MendoZa and producer Liliana Maldonado, the three have worked together in various projects since then.
