Synopsis:

“Come grow old with me, the best is yet to be.” A Younger Man is a short film that explores the choices you make when life cheats you out of the best. Rosa, a woman who has been saddled with the all consuming task of caring for her dying husband makes a bold choice that will unite her with a young passionate man and the two embark on a deceptive journey that begins with murder.

Biographies:



DIRECTOR - JOHN HOWARD SWAIN

John Howard Swain has produced and/or directed over twenty-five plays and owned and operated a theatre and production company in North Carolina for several seasons. He has produced four films and directed four, the most recent being A Younger Man. Film credits include: A Younger Man, Whose Life, Uncommon, and Stand-By. Theatre credits include: That Championship Season, Veronica’s Room, The Hollow, The Owl and the Pussycat, Baggage Men, The Odd Couple, Night Must Fall, Luv, I Do, I Do, The Dumbwaiter Commercials client list as actor, director or producer includes: American Express, Maxwell House Coffee, Taunte Marie’s, Pearl Vision Eye Wear, MCI, IBM, KFC, Formula 409, Tylenol, Cooking with Nicole, MasterCard, Chrysler, Volvo, Kendall-Jackson, Hall Mark Cards, McDonalds, California Chiropractic Association, Log Cabin Syrup, Carnival Cruise Line, Jack in the Box. He is currently in pre-production for an upcoming short film, UNITY NEW YORK with USCUNY Productions.

SHORT STORY WRITER - RACHAEL SEIDEN

Rachael Seiden is currently a Junior at Penn State University where she is majoring in English. Her love for the arts began to take root as she was growing up while spending many hours in the back of the theatre that her parents founded and she learned to read by following along during rehearsals. While attending Fox Lane High School she was involved with the creative writing club, the school literary magazine Fire and Ice, as well as multiple writing retreats and slam poetry contests which cultivated her love of the written and spoken word. While a sophomore in high-school, Rachael wrote a short story “Young John” for a regional writing competition. That story has now become A Younger Man.


WRITER - TONY GLAZER

Tony is a writer, director and producer, and a founding member of Choice Films and Choice Theatricals, as well as a board and company member in The Private Theatre. Tony’s plays have been produced in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Canada. He has just wrapped production on the feature film, Junction, which he wrote and directed, and which is being produced by Choice Films, Pâté Productions and Movie Ranch Entertainment. His short stories Single White Mammal and Buster have won dual prizes in Writer’s Digest’s 2006 Best Short Story Competition and were published in Writer’s Digest’s 2006 Competition Collection. His stage plays include Stain, and Safe (both published by Samuel French). One of his short plays, Doll Play, recently premiered in the 34th Annual Samuel French Short Play Festival under his direction. Glazer’s play, In the Daylight, premiered Off-Broadway in fall of 2009 and two monologues from this play were selected for publication in the 2010 Best Women’s Monologues Compilation by Smith and Kraus. His newest plays, The Substance of Bliss, (winner of the L. Arnold Weissberger Award at Williamstown Theatre Festival) American Stare and The Homeless Dogs of Egypt are all in development for productions. CINEMATOGRAPHER - ANTHONY LENZO

Anthony has been an integrator of camera imaging systems most of his life. He has designed and created new and unique camera systems for both water and land based applications, including his recent creations for the new RED one camera.)
