Michelle Salcedo

Writer/Director/Executive Producer Bio:

Michelle Salcedo is an award winning director with over 20 years experience in the entertainment industry. Born in Miami, of Cuban and Ecuadorian descent, she moved to New York to attend Columbia University and graduated in 1997 with a B.A. in Film Studies. She worked at Miramax Films for five years producing theatrical trailers for over thirty films including Academy Award winner “Chicago”. Her first feature screenplay was finalist for the screenwriting lab at the Sundance Institute. She’s edited over fifty episodes of non-fiction T.V. Her directorial debut, “Piel Canela” shot on location in Cuba, started its festival run in 2019, winning a Jury Prize at the Holly Shorts FF, an Audience Award at the Chicago Latino FF, Finalist at San Diego Latino FF, and a jury prize at Indie Pasión FF, and is an official selection of HBO's NY Latino FF, San Francisco Latino FF, and Lady Filmmakers FF. She's in post-production for her first feature, Woman of the House, a dramedy shot on location in Rhode Island.
