Logline:

A young tomboy struggles to pick out the perfect dress after her crush asks her to a

prom she never wanted to attend in the first place.

Synopsis:

Teen athlete and self-proclaimed tomboy, Tori, gets a chance at her dream date: a

night at the prom with local high school 'hottie,' Tanner. But when she must pick

out a dress for the prom, she realizes that the transition from who she is to what she

thinks Tanner wants is not at all what she thought it would be.

Writer/Director – Brooklyn Alexander

Brooklyn Alexander is a filmmaker and actor from the small town of Norphlet, Arkansas. She began performing at an early age at the local community theater, where she found not only a love for theatre, but also a passion for filmmaking during the annual film festival held there.

Graduating from the Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Film & Television and a BFA in Performing Arts in 2019, she has always loved the art of storytelling in any form.

As a writer, director, and actor, her films have won various awards at festivals including “Best of Fest - Audience Favorite Award” at the 2018 El Dorado Film Festival and “Best Kid Flix” at the 2019 Twister Alley Film Festival for Bingo Night, which she wrote and directed, as well as “Top 5” at the 2017 Louisiana Film Prize for Candyland which she had a featured role. 

When not on stage or behind the camera, Brooklyn enjoys fashion styling, watching movies, and playing piano.

 

Co-Producer – Jacki Alexander

Jacki Henry Alexander is a producer from El Dorado, Arkansas. She graduated in 1992 with an A.A.S. in Office Occupations with an emphasis on Accounting from the former Southern Arkansas University – El Dorado branch. She was employed in the Accounting, Auditing and Treasury industry for over 15 years before leaving to work with her husband in the Oil & Gas industry at Quanico Oil & Gas, Inc.

 

Jacki began co-producing films with her husband, Doug, in order to learn more about the film industry, which her daughter, Brooklyn, is actively involved in. Her past credits include: The Bespoke Tailoring of Mister Bellamy (dir. Alexander Jeffery), winner of the $50,000 “Best Picture” award at the 2015 Louisiana Film Prize, Still Here(dir. Brooklyn Alexander), winner of the “Best Made in Arkansas Film” award at the 2015 A Night of Micro-Shorts Film Festival, and Candylandwhich won “Best of Fest” at the 2017 El Dorado Film Festival. She also had a featured role in a Swedish Osteoarthritis commercial and she looks forward to producing several upcoming feature films in the next few years.

 

When not working in the film or oil industry, Jacki enjoys traveling, watching HGTV, decorating, and spending time with friends and family, including her husband, their 4 children, and 6 grandchildren.

 

Co-Producer – Douglas Alexander

Doug Alexander is an actor and producer born in Houston, Texas and raised in El Dorado, Arkansas. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1985 with an Associate’s Degree in Petroleum Production Technology. He has been employed in the Oil & Gas industry for over 40 years and is presently the President and COO of Quanico Oil & Gas, Inc.

 

Doug began acting at the age of 50, and has been actively involved in producing films, and learning other aspects of the film industry. He has co-produced and had featured roles in several award-winning short films over the last 5 years including, The Bespoke Tailoring of Mister. Bellamy, winner of “Best Picture” at the 2015 Louisiana Film Prize, Candylandwhich won “Best Of Fest” in the 2017 El Dorado Film Festival, and Bingo Night-  Written and Directed by his daughter, Brooklyn Alexander, which won “Best Of Fest” in the 2018 El Dorado Film Festival, as well as many other awards. He was also featured in a Swedish Osteoarthritis commercial.

 

When not producing or acting, Doug looks forward to time spent with his family, especially his wife, their 4 children, and 6 grandchildren.

 

 

Cinematographer/Editor – Alexander Jeffery

Alexander Jeffery is a director and producer known for The Bespoke Tailoring of Mister Bellamywhich won the 2015 Louisiana Film Prize, the “Audience Choice Award” at the Omaha Film Festival, and the “Programmer’s Choice Award” at the Cleveland International Film Festival.

 

Born in Canada, raised in Arkansas, and schooled all over the world, Alexander has always carried a deep love for storytelling. As a child, Alexander would point the family video camera at his Star Wars figurines and yell “Action!” and “Cut!” with fervor. Whether it is on stage as an actor, behind the camera as a director, or capturing candid moments on his iPhone, Alexander loves and respects the art of telling a good story. 

 

Alexander graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2011 with a BFA in Film & New Media and a BA in Theatre Performance. The combination of this training gives Alexander an ability to relate to actors, but also the technical wherewithal behind the lens.
